The Alabama Crimson Tide football program suffered a setback as Jamarrion Gordon, a top Class of 2026 recruit, decommitted and switched his commitment to the UCF Golden Knights.
Gordon, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound defensive back from Jackson, Alabama, initially committed to Alabama on May 18. His departure leaves Alabama with just one commitment in the 2026 class, 4-star cornerback Dorian Barney, with 17 months remaining until the early signing date.
A standout at Jackson High School, Gordon is a 4-star recruit and ranked as the No. 10 player in Alabama for his class. During his sophomore year, he recorded 30 tackles, one sack, one interception, one fumble recovery, and seven pass breakups, contributing to Jackson’s impressive 11-1 season and a Class 4A Region 1 championship.
