Alabama Crimson Tide is gearing up for the offseason after a challenging year under head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Despite a solid 9-4 record, including a narrow 19-13 ReliaQuest Bowl loss to Michigan, Alabama missed the College Football Playoff (CFP) due to pivotal losses to Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

As the program continues its transition from the Nick Saban era, attention shifts to player movements and recruitment.

Returning Strengths

The Crimson Tide retains several critical players. Leading wide receivers Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams, who collectively exceeded 750 yards each this season, are set to return, strengthening the offense. On the line, six of seven key players are expected back, with Kadyn Proctor and Parker Brailsford leading the charge. Defensively, cornerbacks Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown, along with safeties Keon Sabb and Bray Hubbard, bolster the secondary.

Departures

Quarterback Jalen Milroe may declare for the NFL draft, leveraging a relatively weak QB class. Alabama will also lose standout guard Tyler Booker and defensive back Malachi Moore, both All-Americans. Furthermore, 17 players, including Justice Haynes and DeVonta Smith, have entered the transfer portal.

Incoming Talent

Alabama is actively replenishing its roster with high-caliber recruits. The 2025 class, ranked second nationally, includes quarterback Keelon Russell and lineman Michael Carroll. Transfers such as Isaiah Horton and Kam Dewberry will also fill critical gaps, ensuring the program remains competitive heading into next season.

Alabama’s focus now lies in maximizing its fresh talent to return to CFP contention in 2025.
