Nottingham Forest is aiming for a third consecutive away win this season as they prepare to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
Under Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest has already defied expectations, particularly with their stunning 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.
This was their second away win, having also secured three points against Southampton. The team’s attacking style has garnered praise from pundits, who were particularly impressed with their counter-attacking threat against Liverpool.
Despite their strong start, Forest faces a new challenge in Brighton. Speaking ahead of the match, former footballer Alan Shearer shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash.
“Nottingham Forest’s win at Anfield was unexpected, but they were impressive. They’ve had a great start to the season, which surprised many of us,” Shearer told Metro. “However, I’m not sure they can replicate that performance at Brighton. It might be too much to ask.”
Shearer acknowledged Brighton’s recent struggles, including a disappointing result against Ipswich, but believes the Seagulls will bounce back. “Brighton have some fantastic players, and despite that hiccup, I think they’ll win this one at home,” he predicted.
A victory for Forest on Sunday could potentially lift them into second place, but they would need other results to go their way. Regardless of the outcome, Forest’s early season form under Nuno Espirito Santo has been a positive sign for the club’s progress.
