With the Cleveland Browns struggling at 2-8 in the 2024 season, speculation looms over the futures of General Manager Andrew Berry and Head Coach Kevin Stefanski.
However, sports analyst Mike Golic expressed confidence in their return for 2025. On the Thursday episode of Gojo and Golic, Golic stated:
“I think there are a lot more tenuous situations for GMs and coaches in the league than in Cleveland … I do think that Berry and Stefanski will be in Cleveland next year.”
Despite this, Golic was critical of the team’s major misstep involving quarterback Deshaun Watson. Cleveland traded three first-round picks for Watson and signed him to a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract, which Golic labeled a significant error:
“This mistake has slapped them so hard in the face. They can’t hide from it, they can’t talk around it, and they can’t try and massage it. Bad choice of words.”
Golic suggested the Browns might address their quarterback issue in the offseason. He mentioned current starter Jameis Winston as a potential transitional option if the team drafts a rookie for 2025.
As the Browns face tough offseason decisions, their leadership will need to navigate these challenges to rebuild effectively.
