The Boston Celtics have officially signed Anton Watson to a two-way contract after selecting him with the 54th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
Watson, a standout player from Gonzaga, was a key figure during the Summer League in Las Vegas, where he made an impression with his versatile defensive skills and solid physical presence on the court. Averaging 11.8 points per game with shooting splits of 51-35-86 and adding 5.2 rebounds per game over five appearances, Watson’s performance solidified his potential to contribute at the professional level.
Although details of the contract were not disclosed, a standard two-way deal typically ranges between $500,000 and $600,000, roughly half of the rookie minimum salary. Under this contract, Watson will divide his time between the Boston Celtics and their G-League affiliate, the Maine Celtics, and can participate in up to 50 NBA games.
While his defense is already a strength, his development in becoming a more consistent offensive threat will be a primary focus during his time in the G-League.
