Arman Tsarukyan, a prominent UFC lightweight contender, faces significant disciplinary actions following an altercation with a fan during UFC 300.

The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) has fined Tsarukyan $25,000 and imposed a nine-month suspension for the incident, which occurred on April 13, during his walkout for a fight against Charles Oliveira in Las Vegas. This decision was announced during the NAC’s monthly board meeting on Tuesday.

The suspension will last until January 12, 2025, but it may be reduced to six months if Tsarukyan completes an anti-bullying public service announcement approved by the commission, potentially allowing him to return to competition by October 12.

Tsarukyan’s Suspension Incidence

The altercation began when a fan directed a middle finger at Tsarukyan during his entrance. In retaliation, Tsarukyan threw a punch into the crowd, an act captured on both the official broadcast and multiple cell phone cameras.

Despite this incident, Tsarukyan secured a split decision victory over Oliveira, a fight that was crucial as it was designated a “title eliminator” by the UFC.

At 27, Tsarukyan is on a four-fight winning streak and is widely seen as a future title challenger. The fan involved in the altercation has since apologized and stated they will not pursue legal action against Tsarukyan.
