Two key players are sidelined ahead of Bayern Munich Wednesday encounter with Arsenal at the Allianz Arena as Arterta’s side injury scare is dismissed.
Bayern Munich’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, disclosed that his team will be without two key attackers for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.
This comes after Bayern officially lost their grip on the Bundesliga title despite a win over Koln.
The triumph was overshadowed by Bayer Leverkusen’s victory, denying Bayern their 12th successive title.
With only the Champions League left to vie for, Bayern aims to replicate their previous home victories against Arsenal.
However, injuries pose challenges, with Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman sidelined. Gnabry sustained a hamstring injury in the first leg, while Coman suffered an adductor injury during the weekend clash with Koln.
Tuchel confirmed that neither Gnabry nor Coman would be fit for the upcoming match. Despite this setback, Manuel Neuer is available after missing the Koln game as a precaution, and Leroy Sane might play through discomfort.
The absence of Gnabry and Coman presents tactical dilemmas, with potential replacements including Thomas Muller, Mathys Tel, or Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Additionally, left-back Alphonso Davies is suspended, further complicating Bayern’s lineup.
Raphael Guerreiro or Noussair Mazraoui could step in, as Bayern navigates the challenge of facing Arsenal without two crucial attackers.
Arsenal Injury boost ahead of Bayern Munich encounter.
Mikel Arteta received a boost as Arsenal prepares for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich, with captain Martin Odegaard cleared to participate in training.
During Arsenal’s recent Premier League match against Aston Villa, Arteta substituted Odegaard for Emile Smith Rowe due to an injury concern, resulting in a 2-0 loss.

“He was feeling something. He could not continue,” Arteta said on Sunday. Many around North London will have breathed a big sigh of relief at the sight of Odegaard joining his team-mates in training before Wednesday night’s game, including the manager.
Ahead of facing Bayern at the Allianz Arena, Arsenal aims to achieve what no other team has managed this season: securing an away victory in Bavaria.
A draw would extend the match to extra-time, while a win would propel Arsenal to the next round. Although Odegaard’s fitness for a starting position remains uncertain, he has played every knockout minute in Europe thus far. Notably, his assist to Leandro Trossard’s goal against Porto led to a penalty shootout, while Trossard’s goal against Bayern in the first leg leaves the tie finely balanced.
“The moment is now,” Arteta said after the Villa game. “After this blow, it’s how we react. We have the best opportunity to react against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
