Arsenal has informed senior players Oleksandr Zinchencko and Kieran Tierney that they are free to leave this summer as part of a strategic squad reshuffle under manager Mikel Arteta.

The club aims to close the gap with Premier League champions Manchester City and make significant roster adjustments in the process.

Despite several transfer activities expected at the Emirates, the club remains firm on retaining Jakub Kiwior.

The Polish defender, who has garnered interest from Serie A, particularly AC Milan, is viewed as a valuable asset for both center-back and left-back positions. Kiwior’s desire to return to Italy is known, but Arsenal is inclined to keep him for his versatility and defensive depth.

Zinchenko’s departure is notable given his pivotal role in altering Arsenal’s playing style with his expertise as an inverted full-back. Nonetheless, his inability to consistently meet the club’s rigorous demands has led to his potential exit.

This was highlighted by Takehiro Tomiyasu’s performance at left-back towards the end of the season.

Tierney, who has struggled to fit into Arteta’s tactical plans, is also set to depart.

His profile does not align with the manager’s future vision for the squad, making his exit less surprising.

Arsenal’s recruitment team, led by Edu, is actively seeking replacements and has identified Stade Brestois left-back Bradley Locko as a potential signing.

Locko, who had an impressive season in Ligue 1, being named in the Team of the Season, is seen as a robust defender with strong attacking capabilities.

Arsenal’s pursuit of young talent continues as they previously targeted Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, though the move stalled due to the teenager’s commitment to his current club. With Locko now on their radar, Arsenal looks to strengthen their defensive lineup and ensure a competitive edge for the upcoming season.

Amidst these changes, Arsenal is also linked with other high-profile signings to bolster their squad, indicating a busy transfer window ahead.
