Arsenal has turned down a £25 million offer from Nottingham Forest for striker Eddie Nketiah, signaling the club’s intent to hold out for a higher fee.
The 25-year-old forward had previously agreed on personal terms with Marseille earlier this summer, but the French club’s offer failed to meet Arsenal’s £30 million valuation.
Nketiah, a former Leeds United loanee, is seen as a top target by Forest, who are keen to bolster their attacking options. Negotiations are ongoing, with Nketiah’s representatives working on a deal that could see him move to the City Ground.
Despite being an England international and scoring six goals in all competitions last season, Nketiah has found his playing time limited at Arsenal, mainly due to the strong form of Kai Havertz and the return of Gabriel Jesus from injury.
Nketiah was an unused substitute in Arsenal’s 2-0 Premier League win over Wolves. Forest hopes to integrate him alongside their young British talents, including Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White, as they look to strengthen their squad for the season.
