Aston Villa have been busy this summer. The Villans have made some significant signings already, while also seeing some high-profile departures, with Moussa Diaby seemingly set to leave Villa Park in the near future.

Despite their numerous acquisitions, Villa still have a few targets they have not secured. Speaking on Forest Fan TV, Ben Jacobs discussed Callum Hudson-Odoi’s future. Jacobs revealed that Hudson-Odoi was the subject of multiple inquiries this summer, and Villa was one of the clubs interested in the £30m-rated winger.

“We know from Forest there were three inquiries this summer, and some of those clubs were Premier League clubs,” Jacobs said. “There was a point in time where one of those clubs was Villa to my knowledge, but they didn’t progress anything, but I don’t know the other specific clubs, only that Forest registered three formal inquiries to understand the price and the terms.”

Hudson-Odoi, currently at Nottingham Forest, has shown considerable improvement and could have been a brilliant addition under Unai Emery.

The England international possesses the raw abilities to become a superstar, and with the right manager, he could reach a world-class level. Emery’s track record with attacking players like Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang s nouggests he could have unlocked Hudson-Odoi’s full potential.

Villa didn’t pursue their interest further, but Hudson-Odoi’s progress under Emery could have been significant. This situation might be one to watch for future transfer windows.
