Barcelona sporting director Deco has placed Liverpool forward Luis Diaz and Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes at the forefront of his transfer targets this summer.

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona is contemplating significant acquisitions, contingent upon the potential return to the 1:1 financial rule, which could facilitate high-profile signings.

Luis Diaz, a long-time target for Barcelona, is viewed by Deco as the ideal option for the left-wing position, with Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams as an alternative. Diaz’s performance at Liverpool has solidified his reputation, making him a prime candidate for strengthening Barca’s attacking options.

Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes has also frequently been linked with a move to Barcelona. Although previously deemed financially unattainable, the Brazilian midfielder remains a top priority.

Reports suggest Guimaraes is eager to leave Newcastle, driven by a long-held aspiration to play for Barcelona. Additionally, Newcastle may be compelled to offload a key player to adhere to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, which could make Guimaraes more attainable.

Barcelona’s current financial situation remains uncertain, with the club needing to generate approximately €100 million by the end of the month to balance their books. This financial constraint casts doubt on their ability to secure these high-profile targets.

The club’s summer transfer strategy will hinge on whether they can navigate these financial hurdles and capitalize on potential market opportunities.

While Deco’s ambitious plans highlight Barcelona’s intent to rejuvenate their squad with top-tier talent, the feasibility of these moves will largely depend on the club’s financial flexibility and ability to secure necessary funds.
