Barcelona striker Marc Guiu is reportedly on the brink of leaving the club, with Chelsea keen to secure the 18-year-old’s signature.

Interest from top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, has intensified as Guiu’s contract approaches its 2025 expiration, featuring a €6 million release clause.

Despite Barcelona’s efforts to renew his contract, negotiations have stalled. According to SPORT’s Toni Juanmarti, Guiu has not formally informed Barcelona of his decision, but sources within the Barça Atletic dressing room confirm he has expressed his desire to move on.

Guiu is tempted by Chelsea’s offer, which includes a substantial financial package and potential guarantees for first-team opportunities. Barcelona, however, cannot promise immediate first-team integration due to the presence of established forwards Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, and upcoming talent Vitor Roque.

The Catalan club is focusing on long-term plans for Guiu, considering Lewandowski’s age and a potential loan for Roque.

Despite renewing contracts for other young talents like Pau Cubarsi, Hector Fort, Marc Bernal, and Marc Casado, Barcelona’s proposal has not convinced Guiu’s family or representatives. They have hinted at triggering the release clause if the terms are not improved.

As the summer transfer window progresses, the situation remains fluid. Guiu’s potential departure would mark a significant shift for Barcelona, which has been striving to retain its young talents amid fierce competition from elite clubs.

Sources within the Barça Atletic team now acknowledge that if Barcelona fails to meet Guiu’s demands, he is likely to accept Chelsea’s lucrative offer.
