Bayer Leverkusen’s star right-back, Jeremie Frimpong, is reportedly set to agree to a move to Liverpool this summer, according to German sources.

The Dutch international, who has had a standout season under manager Xabi Alonso, has garnered significant attention during this transfer window. Frimpong’s impressive statistics include 14 goals and 12 assists across 47 appearances in all competitions, making him a hot prospect.

Liverpool’s interest in Frimpong comes as no surprise given his stellar performances. Despite his involvement in the Netherlands squad for the European Championships, Frimpong saw limited action before their semi-final exit against England. Nevertheless, his club season has placed him on the radar of several top teams.

As reported by Bild, Liverpool has initiated contact with Frimpong’s representatives. The 23-year-old dreams of playing for the Reds, increasing the likelihood of a successful negotiation with Bayer Leverkusen. The German club has set Frimpong’s release clause at £34 million (€40 million), a fee that Liverpool can meet.

Frimpong currently earns £82,000 per week, suggesting that personal terms should not be a significant obstacle for Liverpool. However, competition for his signature remains fierce. Frimpong also aspires to join clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Arsenal. If any of these teams make a move, Liverpool may face a challenging battle to secure his services.
