Florian Wirtz contract with Bayer Leverkusen is valid till 2027

Bayern Munich has placed Florian Wirtz at the top of their wishlist for the summer of 2025, according to Sky Germany.

The 21-year-old Bayer Leverkusen star has just been named the Bundesliga player of the season, after leading his team to their first-ever league title. Despite a setback in the Europa League final against Atalanta, Leverkusen secured the domestic double by winning the DFB-Pokal with a 1-0 victory over Kaiserslautern.

Wirtz’s impressive stats for the season include 18 goals and 20 assists in 49 appearances, marking him as one of Europe’s most promising talents.

With his contract at Leverkusen running until 2027, the club stands to gain a substantial transfer fee if they decide to sell him before its expiration.

In an interview with Sky Germany, Wirtz emphasized his current focus on the European Championships, indicating that discussions about his future would be postponed until after the tournament.

“Everyone knows my contract. Now is not the time to talk about it. I’m definitely having a great time in Leverkusen, and I feel good. The European Championship is 100 percent on my mind right now. I don’t care about anything else,” he said.

Despite the speculations, Wirtz’s father and advisor, Hans-Joachim Wirtz, has reiterated that Florian is expected to stay with Leverkusen for the upcoming season. However, Bayern Munich is determined to secure the young talent, hoping to convince Wirtz to join their ranks in 2025.

This potential transfer is one to watch as Bayern Munich continues to pursue one of the brightest stars in German football.
