Kingsley Coman has exited the France squad following their progression to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals, the French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed.

Coman, 28, has had a limited role in the tournament, making only one brief substitute appearance against the Netherlands.

His season-end injury recovery impacted his fitness, and despite Ousmane Dembélé’s poor form, Coman didn’t get a chance to start. In the Round of 16 against Belgium, coach Didier Deschamps chose not to deploy a traditional right-winger.

After France’s narrow 1-0 win over Belgium, the FFF announced Coman’s departure to Sweden to be with his wife for the birth of their fourth child. No return date was provided, putting his availability for the quarter-final clash against Portugal in doubt.
