Speculation surrounding Brandon Aiyuk’s potential trade from the San Francisco 49ers has persisted for months, with the Pittsburgh Steelers frequently mentioned as a possible destination.

Recently, rumors gained traction after Aiyuk was seen sharing a significant handshake with 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch during a training camp practice. This fueled speculation that a trade might be imminent.

However, a recent update from NFL insider Jordan Schultz has thrown cold water on these rumors. Schultz reported that, despite discussions with several teams, including the Steelers, no deal has been finalized for Aiyuk as of now.

This revelation contradicts earlier optimism that a trade was near completion. Aiyuk, who is in the final year of his rookie contract, has been seeking a lucrative deal, and with the 49ers already dealing with the hefty contracts of players like Deebo Samuel, his future remains uncertain.

For the moment, Aiyuk remains a 49er, but the situation could change quickly as the trade talks continue.
