The Atlanta Braves are urgently seeking a pitching boost as they navigate a tight NL Wild Card race.
Despite a strong start, the team is now in a precarious position with competitors closing in. The trade deadline presents a critical opportunity for the Braves to strengthen their roster.
Reports suggest that the Braves are eyeing Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet, considered one of the most sought-after players on the market.
According to Jon Heyman:
“Braves are among teams considering White Sox ace Garrett Crochet. Makes sense for them if they can muster decent return. They have multiple injury losses/concerns at the top of their rotation and Crochet salary ($800K) is very reasonable.”
The Braves’ need for pitching is dire, with their staff plagued by injuries throughout the season. Key pitchers like Spencer Strider are out for the year, while Max Fried and Reynaldo Lopez are dealing with ongoing issues. Additionally, veteran Charlie Morton is nearing 40 years of age.
