Approval has come from the Champions League for a Celtic transfer move.

Kasper Schmeichel’s move to Celtic has been met with enthusiasm, as the goalkeeper expressed his excitement about his new opportunity at Parkhead.

The 37-year-old has signed a one-year contract with Brendan Rodgers’ team after his stint at Anderlecht. Schmeichel, who previously played under Rodgers at Leicester City, joins Celtic as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League campaign.

Celtic’s official X account highlighted the transfer by posting a photo of Schmeichel in the United States donning the club’s colors, accompanied by a thumbs-up emoji. Schmeichel himself is eager to start this new chapter. He said:

“Integrating into the team has been seamless. I’m familiar with the manager’s style and principles from our time at Leicester, which makes this transition smoother.”

He added, “I’m thrilled to be here. Speaking with the boss confirmed this was the right move for me. My main focus is to perform well and contribute to the team’s success. Celtic’s rich history of winning is a new experience for me, and I’m excited to be part of a club that strives for excellence.”

Schmeichel emphasized his readiness to embrace the high standards expected at Celtic.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of upholding the club’s tradition of excellence. It’s the kind of environment I thrive in, and I’m eager to get started,” he concluded.
