The Arizona Cardinals have activated running back Michael Carter and offensive lineman Jackson Barton for their critical road game against the Carolina Panthers.
The roster changes address voids left by injuries to offensive tackle Paris Johnson (knee) and running back Trey Benson (ankle), both ruled out for Sunday’s game. Additionally, running back Emari Demercado is on injured reserve due to a back injury sustained last week.
Michael Carter, who has yet to play this season, is expected to back up starter James Conner and share duties with DeeJay Dallas, though Dallas remains questionable with an illness. Carter, a 2021 fourth-round pick by the Jets, joined the Cardinals in 2023 and recorded 149 rushing yards and a touchdown in six games last season.
Jackson Barton, a seventh-round pick in 2019, has appeared in two games for Arizona this season, including a start against Detroit, where he allowed only one quarterback hit in 48 snaps. The 6-foot-7 lineman has been on and off the roster since joining from Las Vegas in 2023.
