Chelsea could trigger Benjamin Sesko's £60m release clause with Arsenal also keen on the Slovenian.

Chelsea are reportedly contemplating activating a £60 million release clause for RB Leipzig’s forward Benjamin Sesko, as per journalist Simon Phillips.

Chelsea heavily relied on Nicolas Jackson, a young Senegalese forward, whose performance, despite improvements, suggests the need for a stronger attacking option.

Sesko, a 20-year-old Slovenian international, has a release clause at Leipzig that could make him a valuable acquisition if he realizes his potential.

Phillips noted, “Chelsea are seriously considering triggering his release clause, believed to be around £60 million, expiring at the end of June. The club aims to structure the payment for the clause, making the process more complex than simply activating it. Sesko has become a priority target for Chelsea this summer, though they face competition from other clubs.”

Arsenal is also in the race for the RB Leipzig Forward.

Arsenal is also monitoring Sesko, intending to bolster their attack after underwhelming seasons from Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Gabriel Martinelli.

The Gunners may prioritize signing Sesko, adding to the competitive race for his signature.
