Chelsea is plotting a summer move for £43m valued Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
The Blues are considering making a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Williams, who boasts an impressive season in Spain, has a release clause of approximately £43m in his contract. Athletic Bilbao is preparing for life without him, indicating potential readiness to negotiate.
While Chelsea is mapping out its transfer strategy, they are eyeing Williams as a prospective addition to their squad. Alongside their pursuit of a traditional No 9, with targets including Victor Osimhen from Napoli, Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, and Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon, they are seriously contemplating a move for Williams.
Securing a top striker typically involves substantial costs, and Chelsea’s budget hinges on their ability to generate revenue from player sales. They face competition from Paris Saint-Germain for Osimhen.

Although Williams commands significant wages, his transfer fee is deemed reasonable. He offers versatility, capable of playing on both flanks, albeit favoring the left wing.
Athletic Bilbao is preemptively addressing Williams’ potential departure by finalizing a deal to acquire Álvaro Djaló from Braga. Meanwhile, Chelsea has predominantly utilized Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk on the left wing this season, despite their inconsistent performances.
There have been no indications of Chelsea seeking to offload either player, with Sterling having rejected a move to Saudi Arabia last summer.
