Chelsea is exploring several options to bolster their defense, particularly the center-back position, but no talks have begun with Nottingham Forest regarding Murillo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Despite recent rumors linking the Blues to the 22-year-old Brazilian, Romano clarified that while Chelsea is following multiple defensive targets, negotiations with Forest or Murillo’s representatives have not started.
Murillo, who has impressed during his time at Nottingham Forest, is considered a potential solution to Chelsea’s defensive struggles. Both Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have yet to fully convince since joining Stamford Bridge, leading to speculation that Chelsea might be seeking reinforcements in defense.
However, Romano also noted that Murillo would be an expensive acquisition. Juventus expressed interest in the player over the summer, only for Forest to stand firm and refuse any offers.
Romano further explained that while Chelsea is actively scouting center-backs, there is no clear favorite at the moment. Murillo remains a valuable target for top clubs, and his future could develop further as the season progresses. However, for now, there is nothing advanced regarding a move to Chelsea.
