Chelsea could part ways with Benoit Badiashile in the summer as coach Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly growing frustrated with his lack of stability caused by injuries and poor form upon return to the team.

Badiashile arrived Stamford Bridge from AS Monaco in January of last year for £30M, but has been struggling with injuries limiting him to only eight premier league appearances this season.

The Frenchman missed the start of the season with a hamstring problem and is currently sidelined with a groin issue, which has seen him miss Chelsea’s last three league games. He also reported to miss the Carabao Cup final showdown with Liverpool on Sunday at Wembley.

TvPlay has reported that Pochettino has “lost faith” in the Frenchman as a reliable option in his backline and could be open to sanction his departure in the summer.

AC Milan reportedly remains interested in the defender after a loan request for the player was turned down by Chelsea in the January transfer window.

A move by the player in the summer  may however, put Chelsea in an awkward position with a likely shortage of central defenders.

Both Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr are on the periphery and could potentially depart in the summer, while Silva is unlikely to receive a contract extension when his current one expires later this year. This scenario suggests that Disasi, Colwill, and the injury-prone Wesley Fofana could be the only recognized centre-back options for Chelsea next season should Badiashile leave Stamford Bridge without an extra re-enforcement.
