Chelsea has appointed Enzo Maresca as their new manager, replacing Mauricio Pochettino, who left after guiding the team to a sixth-place finish.
Maresca, who led Leicester City to the Championship title this season and was previously an assistant to Pep Guardiola during Manchester City’s treble-winning campaign, is tasked with restructuring Chelsea’s squad.
Four players Chelsea plan to cash in on
Reports indicate that Maresca plans to sell four players, generating £145 million for new signings.
The first to potentially depart is Benoit Badiashile, whose £33 million move from Monaco in January 2023 failed to meet expectations. AC Milan has shown interest in the 23-year-old defender.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, acquired for £25 million last summer, is also on the chopping block as Maresca seeks a keeper with better ball-playing skills. Sanchez has potential suitors in both the Premier League and Spain.

Marc Cucurella, bought for £60 million from Brighton last summer, has not lived up to his hefty price tag either. Manchester United and Aston Villa are reportedly interested in the 25-year-old.

Lastly, Trevoh Chalobah, a product of Chelsea’s academy, could be sold, with Manchester United linked to a £25 million move for the England under-21 international.
Selling Chalobah would provide pure profit for Chelsea, further boosting Maresca’s transfer budget.

Maresca’s aggressive strategy aims to rejuvenate Chelsea’s roster, focusing on new talent and addressing previous recruitment issues to elevate the club’s performance in the upcoming seasons.
