Cole Palmer scored and assisted for Chelsea as they triumphed over Newcastle by three goals to one 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

England manager Gareth Southgate, was in the attendance as 21-year-old  Cole Palmer demonstrated his prowess in midfield for Chelsea, earning praise as he orchestrated plays during the match.

His 11th goal of the season marked a milestone, making him the sixth player from Chelsea to score in five consecutive league games. Notably, Chelsea has maintained an unbeaten streak in home league games during the month of March since 2001.

Palmer’s crucial goal, scored 12 minutes into the second half, narrowed the gap between Newcastle, positioned 10th, and Chelsea, positioned 11th, to just one point.

His well-placed shot from outside the penalty area found the back of the net, giving Chelsea the lead.

Nicolas Jackson added to Chelsea’s lead early in the game by redirecting Palmer’s shot past Newcastle’s goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka.

Despite losing winger Anthony Gordon to injury before halftime, Newcastle fought back, with Alexander Isak leveling the score with a skillfully placed shot from 18 yards out.

A swift response from Chelsea came through substitute Mykhailo Mudryk, who extended their lead to 3-1 in the 76th minute, shortly after replacing Raheem Sterling.

Although Jacob Murphy’s late goal for Newcastle in the 90th minute provided some consolation, it wasn’t enough to prevent Chelsea from securing all three points.

This victory also denied Newcastle the opportunity to achieve their first home-and-away double over Chelsea since the 1986-87 season.
