The Dallas Cowboys are in the midst of ongoing contract negotiations with star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, but their offers have yet to meet his target of $33 million annually, let alone the $35 million set by Justin Jefferson’s recent contract with the Minnesota Vikings.
Reports indicate that while the Cowboys have made progress, their latest offer still doesn’t reach Lamb’s desired figure.
Lamb, who has held out from training camp and skipped offseason workouts, is seeking a deal that would place him among the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the NFL.
Owner Jerry Jones acknowledged the ongoing negotiations but refrained from labeling the process as progress.”We’re conscientiously working to get something done… but it’s ongoing,” Jones said, emphasizing the complexity of the negotiations.
The Cowboys face financial challenges as they also consider future deals for quarterback Dak Prescott and defensive star Micah Parsons.
As Lamb remains absent from training camp, accumulating fines that can be waived, the team’s 2024 hopes hinge on resolving these key contracts, particularly Lamb’s, which remains a priority but far from settled.
