Cam Davis clinched his second Rocket Mortgage Classic victory in four years after a dramatic finale at Detroit Golf Club.

The Australian’s closing round of 70 set a clubhouse target of 18-under-par, which his competitors couldn’t surpass. Akshay Bhatia, who had a chance to win with a birdie on the 18th, faltered by leaving his putt four feet short and missing the subsequent par attempt, handing the title to Davis.

Min Woo Lee, another Australian, shared the lead after birdies on the 14th, 15th, and 17th holes but bogeyed the last.

American Davis Thompson mirrored Lee’s birdie spree but also failed to convert his birdie attempt on the 18th, finishing at 17 under. England’s Aaron Rai, part of a four-way tie for second, finished his round with a 72 after a birdie on the 14th followed by four pars.

Davis, reflecting on his win, expressed his emotional journey from recent struggles to victory, crediting his hypnotherapist for helping him regain confidence. Bhatia, despite his disappointment, acknowledged the challenging nature of his final putt.

Rai, who had shared the lead with Bhatia after 54 holes, noted the positives from his performance despite some missed opportunities on the final day.
