In an unexpected twist following their heated debate, Bryson DeChambeau has offered to host a golf match between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
The proposal comes after a particularly intense exchange during the first debate of the 2024 Presidential race, where golf unexpectedly became a point of contention between the two candidates.
The debate, moderated by CNN’s Dana Bash, veered into the realm of golf when the subject of age came up. Trump, 78, and Biden, 81, were discussing their fitness for office, and the conversation quickly turned personal. Trump interrupted Biden’s defense of his age by boasting about his recent victories in club championships.
“I’ve won two club championships—regular ones, not senior. To do that, you need to be smart and hit the ball far, which I can. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards,” Trump declared.
Biden, unfazed, retorted that he would be happy to engage in a driving contest, claiming a handicap of six when he was vice president.
“I’ve got my handicap down to a six,” Biden said, adding, “I’m happy to play golf if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?” Trump scoffed, calling Biden’s claim “the biggest lie” and suggesting his true handicap was eight. The exchange culminated in Trump taunting, “I’ve seen your swing. Let’s not act like children,” to which Biden responded, “You are a child.”
Amid this fiery back-and-forth, Bryson DeChambeau, a prominent figure in the golfing world and a known associate of Trump, extended an invitation via social media.
DeChambeau, leveraging his platform, proposed to host the match on his YouTube channel.
“Let’s settle this whole handicap debate,” DeChambeau tweeted. “I’ll host the golf match on my YouTube @realDonaldTrump @JoeBiden.”
DeChambeau’s relationship with Trump is well-documented. He has played golf with the former president and praised him for his generosity and support.

Following DeChambeau’s U.S. Open win, Trump congratulated him on Truth Social, highlighting his “toughness and inner strength” and commending his golfing talent. This bond adds a layer of intrigue to the proposed match, potentially drawing significant attention.
DeChambeau’s YouTube channel, already popular with 788,000 followers, could see a substantial boost if the match materializes.
This spectacle promises not only a showdown between two leading political figures but also a blend of sports and politics that could captivate audiences worldwide.
