Detroit Lions linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin, placed on injured reserve before the game against the Houston Texans, could be eligible to return after the team’s Thanksgiving matchup with the Chicago Bears.
While the Lions are eager for his return, head coach Dan Campbell emphasized that there are no guarantees about the timing.
“We’re hopeful,” Campbell said on Friday. “But it’s one of those things where we’re taking it day-to-day and week-to-week. It really depends on how quickly he recovers. We’re optimistic, but we just don’t know at this stage.”
Reeves-Maybin, a Pro Bowl selection last season for his standout performance on special teams, would be a valuable asset as the Lions continue their push for a Super Bowl appearance.
His return would bolster the defense, particularly with starting linebacker Alex Anzalone sidelined due to a wrist injury.
The Lions are focusing on each game, but Reeves-Maybin’s potential return could provide the extra depth needed to sustain their momentum during this critical stretch of the season.
