Detroit Lions rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold has been fined $11,255 by the NFL after being flagged for a facemask penalty during the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
This incident marks Arnold’s first fine in the league, adding to a rough start in his career with three pass interference penalties and now this infraction in just his first two games.
Arnold, a former Alabama standout, was selected as the No. 24 overall pick in the draft. Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn highlighted the importance of building chemistry among the defensive back unit, praising the skills of safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, who he believes can become a formidable duo for years to come.
Glenn also emphasized that the cornerbacks, including Arnold, are starting to get more cohesive, having not had much time together during offseason training. He expressed confidence in the group’s potential, noting that the coaching staff must strategically utilize their abilities to maximize their effectiveness on the field.
