Novak Djokovic has made a remarkable recovery from knee surgery just three weeks ago, prompting admiration from his main rival, Carlos Alcaraz.

The Serbian tennis star, who underwent surgery on June 5, is now practicing at Wimbledon and feeling confident about competing at the highest level.

Alcaraz, who beat Djokovic in a thrilling final last year, expressed his amazement at Djokovic’s swift recovery.

“I told him it’s superhuman,” Alcaraz said, impressed by Djokovic’s return to form in just over two weeks. “He’s already playing at a very high level. His nutrition, rest, and overall preparation are perfect.”

Djokovic, who took a break mid-week to support the Serbian football team in Munich, remains optimistic despite initial doubts.

When asked if skipping Wimbledon to prepare for the Olympics might have been wiser, Djokovic admitted even his wife, Jelena, questioned his decision. However, his passion for Wimbledon, a childhood dream, pushed him to compete.

His rehabilitation was carefully planned over 24 days, gradually increasing activity without setbacks. Djokovic credited athletes like Taylor Fritz, who recovered quickly from a similar injury, for inspiring him. He’s been practicing with top players and believes his readiness is high.

“I’m driven by an incredible desire to play, especially at Wimbledon,” Djokovic said. “Missing it didn’t feel right.”

With intense training sessions against players like Daniil Medvedev, Djokovic is hopeful about his performance in the coming weeks, defying expectations and continuing to chase his Wimbledon dreams.
