Drake, the Canadian rapper, is reportedly furious after seeing his long-time friend, NBA star LeBron James, singing along to a Kendrick Lamar diss track targeting him.

This incident took place during Kendrick’s star-studded concert, “The Pop Out – Ken & Friends,” at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. The event featured over 20 guest musicians and drew numerous celebrities, including LeBron James, who was captured on camera rapping energetically to “Not Like Us,” a track that criticizes Drake.

Drake feels betrayed by LeBron

An insider close to Drake revealed to DailyMail.com that Drake felt betrayed by LeBron’s participation.

Drake, who is currently finalizing his new album, now plans to respond to the slight with a diss track of his own, reigniting a long-standing feud with Kendrick Lamar.

The source mentioned that Drake was particularly shocked because he had considered LeBron a close friend, underscoring the depth of the perceived betrayal.

Drake and LeBron’s friendship dates back years, highlighted by various public endorsements and collaborations, such as co-producing the documentary “The Carter Effect” in 2017.

They even invested together in ventures like the PGA Tour and the Italian soccer club AC Milan. Their bond seemed strong, with public appearances supporting each other at concerts and events. For instance, LeBron and his son, Bronny, appeared on stage with Drake during a show in Los Angeles last year.

However, this incident marks a significant rift. Kendrick Lamar’s performance on Juneteenth, intended to promote unity among West Coast artists, included repeated renditions of “Not Like Us,” much to the audience’s delight.

The song’s lyrics contain harsh accusations, including calling Drake a pedophile, which were further amplified by a graphic video on YouTube showing Drake’s home marked with red sex offender symbols.

Kendrick’s concert featured numerous high-profile artists like Dr. Dre, Roddy Ricch, and Ty Dolla $ign. Despite the event’s original intent to celebrate West Coast talent and solidarity, Kendrick’s repeated performances of diss tracks targeting Drake have rekindled their acrimonious rivalry.

This conflict, simmering for years despite early career collaborations, has intensified with each artist releasing multiple diss tracks.

Kendrick’s cutting remarks at the concert included a pointed reference to Drake’s purchase of Tupac Shakur’s crown ring, further stoking the flames.

As tensions escalate, Drake’s planned retaliation on his upcoming album indicates that this high-profile feud is far from over, promising more drama in the world of hip-hop.
