Emma Raducanu, the British tennis star who captured the world’s attention with her remarkable US Open victory in 2021, has suffered another setback.

Porsche, which had appointed her as a global brand ambassador following her historic win, has reportedly ended its sponsorship. Raducanu, who had admired Porsche from a young age due to a coach who owned one, was thrilled when she became an ambassador for the luxury car brand. She was frequently seen in promotional events, including driving a Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet.

However, a source close to Raducanu recently revealed that the car, which had held a special place at her home, was reclaimed by Porsche.

A spokesman for Porsche confirmed that while Raducanu is occasionally loaned a vehicle, the partnership’s dynamic has changed. Despite this, the company emphasized that Raducanu remains a global ambassador.

The tennis star’s post-US Open career has been marred by injuries, including three surgeries, and she has struggled to recapture her earlier form. While lucrative deals with brands like Dior and HSBC have kept her in the spotlight, her performance on the court has yet to match the heights of her 2021 triumph.
