Everton is reportedly considering appointing Italian manager Maurizio Sarri as a potential replacement for Sean Dyche, following a poor start to the 2024/25 season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Toffees are evaluating their options after collecting just one point from their first five Premier League matches, leaving them second from the bottom. As pressure mounts on Dyche, Everton is exploring alternative managerial options, with Sarri emerging as a strong candidate.
Sarri, who previously managed Chelsea during the 2018/19 season, won the UEFA Europa League before departing for Juventus. His managerial career spans several decades, having first made a name for himself at SSC Napoli, where his tactical prowess earned him recognition across Europe. Following his brief spell at Chelsea, Sarri returned to Italy to manage Juventus and Lazio, winning the Serie A title with the former in 2019/20.
Now a free agent, Sarri could be set for a return to the Premier League, with Everton looking to stabilize their season. His experience and tactical acumen could be key factors in Everton’s potential decision to replace Dyche.
However, it remains to be seen if the club will make a formal approach to secure the Italian’s services.
