Everton has initiated discussions with Napoli to expedite the transfer of Danish winger Jesper Lindstrom, as reported by Sky Sports Italy.

The Toffees contacted the Serie A club on Wednesday, aiming to secure Lindstrom’s move to Goodison Park.

Lindstrom, a priority target for Everton, has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Aston Villa. According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa has already made a £25.2 million bid for the player. This development places Everton in direct competition with their Premier League rivals.

The urgency from Everton’s side is understandable, given Aston Villa’s participation in the UEFA Champions League, which could make Villa Park a more attractive destination for Lindstrom. Sean Dyche, Everton’s manager, is keen to bolster his squad’s attacking options and hopes to finalize the deal swiftly.

Lindstrom’s first season at Napoli was underwhelming, but he remains a young talent with the potential to thrive in the Premier League. As Everton fans eagerly await further developments, the club’s management is under pressure to outmaneuver Aston Villa and secure Lindstrom’s signature.
