The rumors surrounding Jackson Tchatchoua’s potential move to Everton have quieted down, yet the offer from the Toffees remains active.

According to a report in Saturday’s edition of Corriere di Verona, Everton was the first club to approach Hellas Verona with a formal bid for the right-back.

The Premier League side offered an initial payment of €8 million, with an additional €2 million potentially available in bonuses. However, this proposal fell short of Hellas Verona’s valuation, as the Serie A club is holding out for €10 million plus bonuses.

Despite the small gap between the two sides’ expectations, Everton has yet to revise its offer. Meanwhile, interest from Lyon and Rennes has added a competitive element, with Hellas Verona hoping for a bidding war to drive up the price. However, neither French club has moved beyond initial contact.

As the transfer window progresses, Verona’s confidence in securing their desired fee may wane. Should no other club surpass Everton’s bid, the English club’s chances of landing Tchatchoua could improve, especially if they decide to sweeten their offer by another €1 million.
