Everton is actively seeking to offload Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, and Neal Maupay before the August 30 transfer deadline, according to a report from TEAMtalk journalist Harry Watkinson.

Shared via his personal X account on August 1, 2024, the news highlights the club’s need to sell these first-team players, which may be crucial for funding further transfers during the summer window.

Despite the club’s efforts to find buyers, none of the three players are reportedly eager to leave Goodison Park. However, their departures might be necessary to facilitate new signings, which Everton manager Sean Dyche is keen to secure.

Everton has already been active in the transfer market, but the focus has now shifted toward selling players to free up funds for potential new arrivals.

Michael Keane, who has made over 200 appearances for Everton, finds himself further down the pecking order following the arrival of Joe O’Brien. With Jarrad Branthwaite likely to stay, Keane’s chances of remaining at the club appear slim.

Similarly, Neal Maupay’s future at Everton looks uncertain after spending the 2023-24 season on loan at Brentford. Mason Holgate, also back at Everton after a loan spell, is unlikely to play a significant role under Dyche moving forward.

If Everton can secure reasonable transfer fees for these players, the club may reinvest the funds into the squad, potentially bringing in quality reinforcements. With a month left in the transfer window, Everton’s Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell, is likely working hard behind the scenes to finalize any deals.
