After a standout performance in the NBA 2K Summer League Tournament, Josh Christopher has secured a two-way contract with the Miami Heat.
Christopher, who previously played for the Houston Rockets, shined in the tournament, particularly in the championship game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
He scored 24 points, with an impressive 9-of-17 from the field and 6-of-10 from three-point range, earning the Finals MVP title. He also contributed four rebounds, three steals, and two blocks, leading the Heat to a 120-118 overtime victory.
Christopher’s career began when he was picked 24th overall by the Rockets in 2021. However, he spent most of his time with the Rockets’ G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, due to limited playing time in the NBA. After being traded to the Grizzlies and subsequently released, he played for the Salt Lake City Stars and Sioux Falls Skyforce during the 2023-24 season.
With the Vipers, he averaged 23.6 points per game. This new opportunity with the Heat marks Christopher’s return to the NBA, aiming to build on his Summer League success.
