Brighton & Hove Albion are poised to announce the appointment of Fabian Hurzeler as their new manager later this week.

Following productive negotiations with his current club, St. Pauli, the Premier League team is finalizing the details to bring Hurzeler to the Amex Stadium.

At 31 years old, Hurzeler will become the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning coaching career.

Hurzeler’s recent success with St. Pauli has attracted considerable attention across Europe. He led the Hamburg-based club to promotion by winning the 2. Bundesliga last season, a remarkable achievement that highlighted his tactical acumen and leadership skills.

Initially joining St. Pauli as an assistant coach to Timo Schultz, Hurzeler took the helm as head coach in December 2022 following Schultz’s dismissal.

Brighton have been without a permanent manager since the departure of Roberto De Zerbi at the end of the season.

De Zerbi, who guided the Seagulls to European football, left a legacy of success that the club hopes Hurzeler can continue.

With key players such as Jason Steele, Lewis Dunk, Pascal Gross, James Milner, and Danny Welbeck—all older than the incoming manager—the dynamic within the team will be interesting to watch.

Fabrizio Romano update

Fabrizio Romano, a renowned football journalist, confirmed the progress of the talks on his social media platform X.

He tweeted, “Brighton will complete the appointment of Fabian Hurzeler as new head coach this week, talks with St. Pauli are proceeding very well. The agreement is considered close, with all parties keen on getting it done very soon for the youngest manager ever in Premier League (31).”

The appointment of Hurzeler is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Brighton’s squad.

The club’s management is optimistic that his youthful energy and innovative approach will resonate well with the team and its supporters.

As Brighton aim to build on their recent successes and maintain their competitive edge in the Premier League, Hurzeler’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to ensure the club’s ongoing development and achievement.
