Leeds United manager Daniel Farke acknowledged the frustration of the club’s supporters following a 0-0 draw against West Brom, extending their winless streak to three games this season.
Despite the result, Farke expressed relief at securing a point at the Hawthorns, especially given the club’s significant player departures over the summer. Fans voiced their displeasure during the match, particularly when Leeds played the ball backwards and again at the final whistle.
The match itself was largely uneventful, with West Brom creating the better opportunities, including a close-range attempt that struck Kyle Bartley, a shot by Jayson Molumby saved by Illan Meslier, and Karlan Grant missing the target. Leeds’ best chance came from Ethan Ampadu’s ambitious 60-yard shot, which drifted wide.
In addressing the fans’ dissatisfaction, Farke remarked:
“Yes, because they are used to seeing us flying – even in the last home game.”
He acknowledged the team’s struggles, particularly after losing key players like Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, and Georginio Rutter. However, Farke also highlighted the positives, noting that despite a difficult week, the team took a “first step forward” and is committed to delivering better performances.
West Brom head coach Carlos Corberan agreed that the draw was a fair outcome, given the limited chances created by both teams. He praised his team’s possession game and emphasized the importance of balancing defensive organization with bravery in attack.
Corberan expressed satisfaction with his team’s ability to dominate possession but acknowledged the need to create more chances while maintaining control of the game.
