Nottingham Forest’s Premier League season opener against Bournemouth ended in frustration as they conceded a late equalizer and witnessed a key player, Danilo, suffer a severe injury.

Chris Wood’s first-half goal had given Forest hope of securing a rare opening-day victory, their first since 1996. However, Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo struck in the 85th minute, salvaging a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

The more troubling issue for Forest was the injury to midfielder Danilo, who was forced off the pitch just seven minutes into the match after an awkward landing following an aerial challenge. Danilo received extensive treatment before being stretchered off with his left leg in a splint, raising concerns of a prolonged absence.

Forest struggled to capitalize on their lead, with several missed opportunities allowing Bournemouth to stay in the game. Despite being the more dominant side, Forest’s failure to close out the match continued a worrying trend from the previous season.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s performance without Dominic Solanke offered promise, as they look to integrate their record signing, Evanilson, in the coming games.
