With just a month remaining until the 2024/25 Premier League season kicks off, Nottingham Forest is reportedly preparing their first bid to secure their fifth signing of the summer.

This move highlights Forest’s active transfer window, during which they’ve already navigated profit and sustainability regulations by selling Orel Mangala and Moussa Niakhate to Lyon.

Meanwhile, they’ve bolstered their squad with new additions such as Elliot Anderson, Marko Stamenic, Carlos Miguel, and Eric da Silva Moreira, giving manager Nuno Espirito Santo a significant boost in their quest for Premier League survival.

Forest’s transfer activities are far from over. Reports link them with several potential signings, including Florentino Luis, to strengthen their midfield alongside the newly acquired Anderson.

The club is showing strong support for Espirito Santo, potentially even bringing in a Champions League player before the transfer window closes.

Alexis Saelemaekers Transfer Update

According to Calcio Mercato, Nottingham Forest is now ready to make an initial offer for Alexis Saelemaekers from AC Milan.

They are competing with Ipswich Town and Leicester City for the winger’s signature. Milan is open to selling the 25-year-old, valued between €10m-15m (£8m-£13m), which could pave the way for Saelemaekers’ move to the Premier League.

Securing a player from a club of AC Milan’s stature would be a significant achievement for Forest, particularly if they manage to outbid relegation rivals Leicester and Ipswich. Saelemaekers, who had a productive loan spell at Bologna last season, is in need of a permanent move away from San Siro.

The “superb” Saelemaekers, as described by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig, is not in Milan’s plans this summer and urgently requires a new club.

Nottingham Forest, having seen Callum Hudson-Odoi revitalized at the City Ground, might offer Saelemaekers a similar opportunity. He would join the ranks alongside Anthony Elanga, who had a solid debut season.

For Nuno, having versatile wingers like Saelemaekers and Elanga would enhance Forest’s chances of overcoming relegation threats. Saelemaekers, known for his robustness and off-ball skills, contrasts with the more creative Elanga, providing a disciplined option in tougher matches against top-six teams.

As Nottingham Forest gears up for the new season, their pursuit of Saelemaekers demonstrates their commitment to strengthening the squad and ensuring a competitive edge in the Premier League.
