Nottingham Forest is actively seeking to secure their seventh signing of the summer transfer window, having reportedly made an initial inquiry to bring in a new winger before Premier League rivals Newcastle United can do so.

This move comes after an already busy summer for the club, highlighted by the recent acquisition of Portuguese winger Jota Silva. The 25-year-old’s arrival adds to a growing list of signings, including Nikola Milenkovic, Elliot Anderson, and Carlos Miguel, as Forest aims to solidify their squad and steer clear of relegation troubles.

The latest target for Forest is Nico Gonzalez of Fiorentina, a 26-year-old winger who has also caught the attention of Newcastle, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Juventus. With negotiations in progress, Forest is expected to submit a formal offer to the Italian club soon.

Gonzalez, known for his versatility and intelligence on the field, could play a pivotal role in bolstering Forest’s attacking options, particularly in combination with players like Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Securing Gonzalez would not only enhance Forest’s offensive capabilities but could also be crucial in their fight to stay in the Premier League.
