Nottingham Forest have successfully signed Portugal international Jota Silva, a player who had long been on West Ham United’s radar.
The 25-year-old winger has moved from Vitória de Guimarães to Forest on a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2028. The transfer, worth €7 million plus additional incentives, marks a significant acquisition for Forest.

West Ham had been negotiating with Vitória throughout the summer and were seriously interested in Silva as recently as Monday. However, their pursuit ended when the Hammers struck a deal with Leeds United for Crysencio Summerville, leaving the path clear for Forest to swoop in.
Jota, often likened to the English star Jack Grealish for his style of play, can operate in multiple attacking positions. He joins Forest following an impressive season where he tallied 15 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Vitória.
