Barcelona has faced a challenging summer transfer window, marked by setbacks and delays, primarily due to unresolved player sales.
Despite these difficulties, the Catalan giants have managed to make some headway. They successfully secured the signing of RB Leipzig’s star, Dani Olmo, one of their key targets for the season. However, Barcelona’s ambitions don’t end there. Their initial plan was to bring both Dani Olmo and Athletic Club’s winger, Nico Williams, to the Camp Nou.
While Olmo’s arrival is a done deal, Nico Williams remains elusive. According to Gerard Romero, a well-known Catalan journalist, the saga surrounding Nico is far from over. His cryptic statement, “We have not seen the end in the Nico chapter,” suggests that Barcelona may still have hopes of acquiring the talented 22-year-old.
This could imply a renewed pursuit either this summer or next, depending on whether Williams’ release clause stays unchanged. As things stand, Dani Olmo is the only confirmed addition, with Nico Williams’ future still uncertain.
