Joshua Kimmich, the versatile Bayern Munich defender, has reportedly shortlisted Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City as potential destinations should he leave Bayern this summer, according to sources in Germany.

The 29-year-old, who has one year left on his contract, has yet to engage in renewal talks with Bayern, raising the possibility of him departing the Bundesliga giants for free next year if no new deal is reached.

Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich is open to selling Kimmich this summer as an agreement on a new contract appears unlikely.

Besides the Premier League trio, Kimmich is also considering moves to Spanish powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Barcelona currently his top choice if he decides to exit Bayern.

Kimmich, who has been an integral part of Bayern’s success, has emphasized his current focus on the European Championship.

“The situation is absolutely clear. I have a contract with Bayern until 2025, so it’s not mainly up to me to be active right now. My focus is solely on the European Championship, and after that, there will be a conversation,” Kimmich stated.

The uncertainty surrounding Kimmich’s future coincides with Bayern’s appointment of Vincent Kompany as the new head coach, replacing Thomas Tuchel.

While Kimmich acknowledges Kompany’s impressive playing career, he reserves judgment on his coaching capabilities.

“Of course I know him from a distance as a player. I can’t judge him as a coach yet. It’s important for my future, but first of all, it’s important for me what the club thinks,” he commented.

With the summer transfer window open, clubs across Europe are keeping a close watch on Kimmich’s situation, anticipating a potential high-profile transfer if Bayern Munich opts to cash in on one of their key players.
