The Denver Broncos, currently sitting at a 2-2 record, have been strong on defense but have struggled offensively.
Despite rookie quarterback Bo Nix leading the team, the offense has missed opportunities, particularly during their Week 4 game against the New York Jets, where Nix set a record for the fewest yards per attempt. As the team looks to address these issues, trade speculation has arisen.
KOA’s Benjamin Allbright commented on social media:
“Lots of Broncos fans are asking about Amari Cooper as a trade target (I sincerely doubt it)… I’d be looking at Atlanta and Kyle Pitts, personally.”
Pitts, drafted fourth overall in 2021 by the Falcons, is the highest-drafted tight end in NFL history. Despite some tough seasons, Pitts is seen as a dynamic athlete capable of making game-changing plays.
Sports Illustrated’s Chad Jensen and Erick Trickel noted:
“Pitts has had a couple of rough seasons and isn’t off to a hot start this year. However, he can be a dynamic playmaker at the position and a piece that Sean Payton likes to have in his offense.”
Raheem Morris, Falcons head coach, addressed concerns about Pitts’ lack of production, saying:
“Really for me, man, stats are for losers, man. I don’t get involved in that stuff. But you go out there, you try to win each game. And we were able to win it today, and that’s what we did.”
Pitts could fit perfectly into the “joker role” Payton once envisioned for Greg Dulcich, who has struggled this season. If acquired, Pitts could help boost the Broncos’ offense with his unique athletic abilities, filling a crucial gap in Denver’s passing game.
