The Alabama Crimson Tide have a long-standing reputation for developing elite wide receivers, and freshman Ryan Williams is proving to be the latest star in their lineup.

With Alabama off to a 3-0 start, quarterback Jalen Milroe has been a standout, throwing for 590 yards and 8 touchdowns. Much of his success is credited to Williams, who has quickly become a key target.

Williams burst onto the scene in Alabama’s dominant 42-10 victory over Wisconsin, where he recorded 78 yards and a touchdown on just four receptions.

Through the first three games of the season, he has accumulated 285 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns on 10 catches. At 6 feet and 170 pounds, Williams might seem undersized, but his quickness and technical prowess allow him to navigate press coverage with ease. He utilizes his 4.3 speed to create separation but also relies on strong footwork and precise route running.

Alabama has deployed Williams in various roles, including special teams and as a receiver both in the slot and wide. His ability to consistently get open and contribute in different situations has sparked debates on whether he is the best wide receiver in the SEC.
