Jaylen Brown made a surprising decision by excluding Michael Jordan from his all-time starting lineup.
Instead, Kobe Bryant secured a spot in Brown’s lineup. The Boston Celtics recently surpassed the Los Angeles Lakers in total NBA titles, drawing attention to Brown’s exclusion from the USA basketball Olympic team. As Team USA gears up to face Nikola Jokic’s Serbian team, Brown’s career has taken a backseat.
On Wednesday, Brown’s omission of Jordan from his all-time starting five was as unexpected as the Olympic snub he faced. This bold move followed a dynasty prediction from Boston legend Bob Cousy. Amid the buzz, Sam Hauser’s contract extension was also announced.
Brown, who averaged 23 points as the Celtics’ starting shooting guard, occasionally played as a forward alongside Jayson Tatum.
His all-time lineup features Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Bill Russell. Notably, Jordan, a six-time champion, was left out in favor of Bryant.
Although Brown won’t be competing with Team USA, he will likely watch the games closely. Brown, a University of California-Berkeley alum and NBA Finals MVP, had a stellar playoff run this past season, cementing his place as a key player for the Celtics.
