Jon Rahm has sparked controversy among golf fans after blaming a noisy overhead drone for his poor performance during the final round of LIV Golf Nashville.

Rahm, who signed a groundbreaking $600 million deal to join the Saudi-backed tour, voiced his frustration with the drones after his tee shot on the 6th hole ended up in the water.

In a profanity-laced outburst, Rahm complained, “Every tournament. It’s f***ing incredible. Right on my backswing. These f***ing drones every time.”

His reaction was met with a nonchalant “Hmm” from LIV Golf commentator David Feherty.

Many fans were quick to criticize Rahm, pointing out that LIV Golf has always promoted a louder, more dynamic atmosphere, which includes drones and loud music. One fan echoed a common sentiment by asking, “Didn’t he sign up for that though?” This reflects a broader criticism that Rahm knew what to expect when joining the tour.

Rahm is not alone in his complaints. Bob MacIntyre also expressed frustration with drones during his win at the RBC Canadian Open earlier this month.

Despite these distractions, Rahm finished T3 at Nashville, marking his eighth top-10 finish in nine events this season, though he has yet to secure an individual win in his debut season on the LIV tour.

Rahm’s performance has been inconsistent, particularly in major tournaments. He finished T45 at the Masters, missed the cut at the PGA Championship, and withdrew from the US Open due to a foot infection. His fellow LIV golfer, Dustin Johnson, has also struggled, with only one top-10 finish in his last 10 starts.

The debate over drones and noise at LIV Golf events continues, with fans divided on whether players like Rahm should adapt or if the tour needs to reconsider its approach.
